Neighbor Catches Glimpse Of Thieves

An alert neighbor caught a glimpse of thieves leaving a St. Joseph home Friday, hopefully providing key information that will assist authorities in their investigation.

The victim, age 53, summoned Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies to his 18 Myers Street, St. Joseph home last week, indicating that someone had stolen his appliances.

Missing from inside the home were a Kenmore refrigerator, Kenmore washer and dryer, Whirlpool air conditioner, and a King of Heat brand wood stove. Total loss is estimated to be $1,250.00.

When deputies spoke with a neighbor, he explained that he had noticed a truck leaving the home earlier, pulling a trailer filled with the missing items. Although not extremely detailed, he was able to give deputies a description.
