Intruder Breaks In While Resident Sleeps

A Lawrenceburg resident reported to authorities last week that an intruder broke into his home while his girlfriend was sleeping on the sofa.

The 28-year-old resident of 1308  North Mahr Avenue summoned Lawrenceburg Police Officers to his home around 1:00 a.m. Wednesday. He stated that his girlfriend had been asleep on the sofa when someone entered through the rear door. He reportedly removed a brown clip wallet from the kitchen bar, then walked into the living room.

Thinking that the intruder was her boyfriend, the woman called to him. She told officers that the intruder then grabbed a bottle of prescription Lortabs from the coffee table, turned and fled out the rear door.

Although she saw the man, the woman was unable to give officers a description. She stated that, when she realized the man was an intruder, she began screaming and awakened her boyfriend.

Nothing else appeared to be missing from the home. The resident reported that his wallet contained $30 in cash and $50 worth of gift cards.
