Hagan Awarded LPD Medal Of Valor And Purple Heart Ribbon

Lawrenceburg Police Department Patrolman Brian Hagan was awarded the Medal of Valor and Purple Heart Ribbon during ceremonies Friday, for his successful efforts in diffusing a domestic situation in January during which he sustained a serious injury.

Hagan is credited with ensuring that no shots were fired during the domestic matter.

After a lengthy pursuit of an armed suspect involving several agencies, the suspect ran inside his mother’s home. Officials report Hagan was able to establish verbal contact and talk the suspect into surrendering himself.

While the suspect was being arrested a struggle resulted in Hagan sustaining two serious brakes to his left leg. At the present time he continues to recuperate from the injury.

“This was a very serious situation,” explained Assistant Police Chief Darrin Goolsby, “and he was able to diffuse it and prevent it from becoming something worse.” Pictured left to right are Goolsby, Hagan, and Police Chief Judy Moore.
