Theft From Cemetery Under Investigation
Law enforcement officials initiated an investigation Monday after receiving a complaint regarding a theft from a Leoma cemetery.
The victim reported to Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies that a floral arrangement recently placed on a grave at Crossroads Cemetery was stolen sometime between April 24 and May 1. He indicated that the arrangement had been made by his wife, who had written her name on the back of the foam block.
The victim stated that he received a call from another individual, informing him of the theft.
Loss is estimated to be $40.
