Burglars Hit Summertown Business

A business in the Summertown area was burglarized overnight Sunday, leaving the owner with considerable losses.

William Edward Dunn reported to Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies Monday morning that the burglary at Summertown Bait and Tackle occurred around 2:46 a.m.

Dunn reported that he had left the business around 7:00 the previous evening, returning shortly before 8:00 a.m. to discover the crime. The time of the crime was pinpointed by the time code showing when the store cash register was opened.

Items stolen include several cases of beer, several cartons of cigarettes, candy bars, soft drinks, and around $500 in change.

Deputies noted that entry was made through the rear door, but that no damages were found.
