Family Rescued From Flood Waters

     Local emergency crews made quick work of rescuing a family who had become trapped inside their vehicle while attempting to cross a low water bridge Saturday morning.

     Authorities said that units with both the Lawrenceburg and Ethridge Fire Departments responded to the low water bridge on Mount Ararat Road around 10:00 a.m.

The family of four had attempted to cross the creek however the water level was increased considerably due to heavy rains. About mid-way across their truck became stranded.

The father and one child were able to make their way out of the creek, while the mother and a seven-year-old were stranded inside.

     Crews utilized a ladder truck in the rescue operation. They were quickly able to pluck mother and child from the truck and deposit them on dry land. Authorities say that none of the family members sustained injury.
