Community Clubs Compete For Litter Pickup Prizes

Lawrence County community clubs and their supporters are encouraged to help keep Lawrence County clean during the month of May, as part of a litter collection contest.

May 30th will mark the close of the Community Club Litter Pickup Contest for the first half of 2009.  Twice each year, community clubs compete for cash prizes through litter collection contests funded through the Tennessee Department of Transportation Litter Grant Program.

Community clubs and their supporters may take litter collections to the Solid Waste Transfer Station during regular business hours.  Winners of the contest will be announced in mid-June.

Lawrence County Government encourages all community clubs and their supporters to participate in the latest litter collection program and help “Keep Lawrence County Clean”.
