Intoxicated Visitor Runs Car Into Outbuilding

A Resident of Berger Street summoned Lawrenceburg Police Officers to his home late Monday after a visitor became intoxicated and ran his car into his outbuilding.

The incident was reported at 11:39 p.m. at a home located at 122 Berger Street. The resident, age 24, reported the woman had been at his home for a few hours, during which she had “gotten very drunk and became violent toward him.” The victim said that she took his 1997 Buick LeSabre and ran it into the outbuilding behind the residence.

When he told her he had called for police assistance, the victim said the woman became enraged, kicking holes in a bedroom door and wall. She then left the premises.

Officers report they were able to locate the suspect a short time later on Groh Street. She was subsequently placed under arrest.

Iris Heather Berryhill, 34, of 17155 Dusty Road, Athens, Alabama was booked on charges of public intoxication and vandalism. She is scheduled to answer the charges in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on June 3, 2011.
