Two Homes Targeted By Vandals

Two different households were disturbed overnight Wednesday after having been targeted by vandals.

A resident of 408 Third Street, Lawrenceburg, summoned Lawrenceburg Police Officers to her home after she discovered damages. She told officers that she and her thirteen-year-old son had been playing a game the previous night when they heard strange noises outside. She said that they looked out, but were unable to see anything untoward at that time.

The following day when they went outside, the mother and son discovered their home had been pelted with paint balls. One window had been cracked and paint was splattered on the window, house, shed and the boy’s bicycle.

A resident of 227 Brock Hollow Road, Leoma, reported she was asleep when she was awakened by the sound of breaking glass. The resident told Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies that when she opened her door to investigate, she found that the glass of the storm door had shattered.

Deputies note that no suspect object was found, but that all the glass was lying between the doors as if something had been hurled at the door. Also, the screen was left undisturbed.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Divisions of both departments have been tasked with delving into the crimes. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police department at 762-2276 or the sheriff’s department at 762-3626.
