7 bodies found in Tennessee, the suspect was shot and apprehended.

Authorities stated on Sunday the suspect, Michael Cummins, was shot and arrested for the killings of 7 people in rural Tennessee after an hours long manhunt triggered by the discovery of the bodies in two separate homes.

The search for the suspect began on Saturday evening after an emergency call led police to 4 bodies in a home in Sumner County, about 25 miles northeast of Nashville along the Kentucky border.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported orginally that 4 bodies were found in Sumner County at a home on Charles Brown Road, and 1 other body found at a home on Luby Brown Road.

Authorities then discovered 2 more bodies at the properties bringing the total to 7. Information acquired at the scene suggested Cummins was the prime suspect in both cases.

Cummins was found after authorities used an aircraft that spotted someone in a creek bed around a mile from the first crime scene. At least one officer fired at Cummins, wounding him, but no officers were hurt in apprehending the suspect.
