Press Release regarding shooting Friday night

Lawrenceburg Police Department

At the request of 22nd District Attorney General Brent Cooper, TBI Special Agents are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Friday night in Lawrence County.

Initial reports indicate Investigators with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were searching for a suspect in a murder case.

Law enforcement officers encountered the individual in a parking lot of a Lawrenceburg business on Highway 43. Preliminary findings indicate that subject, identified as Desmond Allen (DOB 12/19/1990), pulled out a gun and shot himself. He died immediately. The investigation remains active and ongoing
