Residents’ Dog Is Stolen, Sold, Recovered

A family pet stolen overnight Friday was quickly located and recovered by law enforcement officers.

Residents of Lawrenceburg’s First Avenue reported the theft Saturday to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department. They indicated that they had let the yellow Chihuahua out several times for a bathroom break. The last time they attempted to call the dog back inside, they report he was nowhere to be found.

A neighbor reported seeing the dog inside another neighbor’s residence that day. Officers made their way to the home and spoke with the resident. He indicated he had purchased the dog from another neighbor that morning for $6.00. He indicated that he did not know the dog had belonged to the victims.

The dog was returned to his rightful owner. Officers report they had been unable to locate the suspect at the time reports were filed.
