Florence Woman Facing TennCare/WIC/Food Stamp Fraud Charges

A Florence woman was brought to Lawrence County during the weekend after Lauderdale County authorities learned she was facing charges here.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies met Lauderdale County, Alabama, authorities at the state line just before 8:00 p.m. Saturday where they took custody of Desha Michelle Boggan, 35, of 21 County Road 347, Florence, Alabama.

Boggan had reportedly obtained services from TennCare and WIC as well as food stamps in a fraudulent manner. While she was being booked on the local TennCare fraud, Food Stamp fraud, and WIC fraud charges deputies note discovering there was an outstanding warrant against Boggan locally, charging her with the crime of violation of probation.

Boggan is scheduled to answer the charges against her through Lawrence County Circuit Court on May 10, 2010.
