Identity Of Lawrenceburg Man Used In Florida

Fingerprints revealed that a Lawrenceburg man was not the same individual arrested by authorities in Florida, however the victim was still left holding the bag for purchases he did not make.

The Seventh Street resident notified Lawrenceburg Police Officers of the identity theft case on Monday. He indicated that he was recently made aware that a man who had been arrested in Pasco County, Florida, had used his identity. It was not until the booking agent ran the man’s fingerprints that they learned of the identity theft attempt.

Since that time, the resident said he has received a bill from RJM Acquisitions. The company indicated they had purchased the collection debt from Fingerhut, where it was alleged that the Lawrenceburg man had made credit charges totaling $232.65.

The victim told officers that he did not make the purchases, and that he felt the same individual might be responsible.

Authorities have not yet learned exactly where the purchases were made, however the case remains under investigation at the present time.
