Crime Report

Vandalism

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were summoned to investigate vandalism to a rental property on Thursday, April 21 owner Kenneth Ray Robertson reported his tenants were moving and that he had gone to the Grinnell Drive residence to clean. He told deputies he found holes in two walls inside the structure, the flooring in two rooms was destroyed due to animal feces, and the concrete steps had been removed from the front door and busted up. Damages were estimated to total $400.

Burglary

On Friday Lawrenceburg Police Officers were called to a 418 Stephens Street home. Officers report the resident left around 9:30 that morning to buy groceries, returning around noon to find that the front door had been kicked in. Muddy footprints were found on the door. A bedroom inside had been ransacked “as if someone were looking for something,” Several jewelry items were reported missing. Loss was estimated to total $7,175.

Burglary

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to investigate a home burglary at 549 Iron City Road Saturday. The resident told deputies he had left around 9:00 p.m. Friday to ride four wheelers with friends. When he returned at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, he found the front door had been kicked open. After gaining access to the home the culprit made off with an Xbox game system and games along with medication, with a total value of $905.

Theft

At 3:34 p.m. Sunday deputies were sent to Halfway Market, 1153 West Point Road, to investigate the theft of gasoline. The clerk reported a man had asked that the gas pump be activated. He reportedly pumped $60.01 worth of gas, then drove away without paying.
