Resident Reports Ex Stole Car, Truck And Lawnmower

A Lawrenceburg woman filed a complaint with local law enforcement officers on Wednesday, indicating that her ex-fiancée had stolen her car, truck and lawnmower.

The woman, age 35, told deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday that she had discovered that morning that her John Deere riding mower was missing from outside her home, along with approximately $400 worth of fishing poles.

When she went to the repair shop where she had left her 1999 Chrysler Sebring, the victim was told that her ex-fiancée had picked it up that morning. In addition, he said the man had also picked up a black Chevrolet S-10 truck she had left for repair.

Shortly afterwards, the victim said she received a telephone call from the ex-fiancée’s ex-wife. She told the victim that he had called her shortly before and had been bragging about the fact that he had taken the car and sold it. Also, that he was driving around in the truck with the lawnmower in the back.

Investigation into the matter has been handed over to detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
