Tragic Hardin Accident Claims Life Of Lawrenceburg Man

   A Lawrenceburg man lost his life Tuesday morning while on the job at a construction site in Hardin County.

   According to reports filed through the Hardin County Sheriffs Department, the accident occurred around 9:42 a.m. near 215 Owen Lane in the Shiloh area.

   When he arrived on the scene, Deputy Billy Franks reports speaking with the victim’s nephew, Stephen Neal Luna of Lawrenceburg. Stephen Luna explained that he and his uncle had been down in a hole, attempting to help install a 3,000 to 4,000 pound culvert piece.

   The nephew indicated that as track hoe operator Joshua Stanford of Pulaski moved the piece into place when a chain snapped. Rickey Allen Luna, 51, of 10 Bryant Road in the Piney community, reportedly fell back into the hole. The culvert piece then fell atop him, crushing him.
