Loretto Home Destroyed In Monday Night Blaze
A blaze that ignited inside a Loretto home overnight Monday completely destroyed the structure.
Loretto officials indicate that the fire call went out around midnight and emergency personnel quickly made their way to the scene. They worked to ignite the flames that engulfed the home of Olen Smithson, situated at the corner of West Commerce Street and Second Avenue, however their efforts proved unsuccessful.
Firefighters remained on the scene Tuesday morning to ensure that the debris did not rekindle.
