Intoxicated man stops at jail and asks to be incarcerated

Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that officers spoke with a man who had came to the local jail asking that he be placed under arrest.

The man, identified as Daniel Floyd Cates, 32, of Summertown, admitted that he had used ecstasy and methamphetamine earlier that same day. He told officers that he “needed to go to jail,” that he “was done with his lifestyle and ready to make a change.”

Cates was jailed on a public intoxication charge with bond set at $1,000. He will appear in General Sessions Court on May 4.
