Burglar Makes Off With Food
A burglar who broke into the home of a Summertown woman late last week made off only with food items.
The crime was reported Friday to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
Reports show that deputies were summoned to 3808 Buffalo Road shortly after 4:00 p.m. The resident indicated she had left home around 10:00 a.m., returning around 4:00 p.m.
The front door, she reported, was unlocked. Further inspection of her home revealed that several items of food were missing, including two packs of hamburger meat, soy sauce, bacon and butter.
Deputies reported finding no signs of forced entry to the home. The matter remains under investigation currently by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
