Law enforcement officials have been asked to investigate a number of theft incidents recently, targeting Lawrence County citizens.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the theft of a 6’x12’ trailer from the back yard of a Highway 43 South residence. The victim reported that the trailer had a value of $1,800. He said that the crime might have occurred within the past couple of days, but that he had been working third shift and had not noticed it until that morning.

Lawrenceburg Police officers were called to investigate the theft of a purse, reported by a Jackson Avenue resident. The resident told officers that she had been shopping at a North Locust Avenue business when her purse disappeared. She speculated that someone had taken it from her shopping cart while she was checking out. Loss was approximately $50.

A Mildred Avenue resident reported to police officers that his keys had gone missing. He told officers that he had allowed a homeless woman to stay at his residence because she had nowhere else to go. He said that when she left, he noticed that his key ring and keys were missing.

A Columbia Avenue resident reported to Lawrenceburg Police officers that she had recently been incarcerated. Once she was released she went home only to find that her car and her belongings were missing. An acquaintance did return the victim’s car, however she had been unable to recover her belongings at the time the report was filed. She estimated their combined value to be $1,630.

Authorities would appreciate any tips regarding any of these crimes. You may contact the police department at 931-762-2276 and the sheriff’s department at 931-762-3626.
