Recent burglaries reported to local agencies

Detectives with the Lawrenceburg Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a number of recent burglaries.

Sheriff’s deputies spoke with residents of Locker Road in Summertown where it was reported that several items had been stolen out of the basement of the home. A pressure washer was reported stolen as was a Yeti cooler and a chainsaw. Altogether, loss is estimated to be $950.

Deputies responded to a Mattoxtown Road home where a relative of the resident reported a loss of approximately $500. The complainant told deputies that she had stopped by to check the house while the resident was in the hospital.

She found that someone had kicked open the back door. The only thing that was reported missing was an Apple iPad. Damages to the door were said to total around $1,200.

Police officers took a report regarding the burglary of a vehicle on Mahr Avenue. The victim reported that someone had broken into her 2006 Toyota Prius while it was parked there. She reported that she had left the car unlocked. Three kinds of prescription medications were said to have been stolen.

Deputies spoke with the owner of some boom trucks on Old Jackson Highway last week. He reported finding a crow bar lying beside the trucks. Tool boxes that he had locked had been pried open and several items were missing.

A Lincoln well pack welder was stolen along with a variety of hand tools and a Stihl brand chainsaw. He estimated his loss at $2,325.A witness reported that he had noticed that there were two cars parked at the home sometime around 9:00 the previous night. The case currently remains under investigation.
