Mailboxes Vandalized In Ethridge Community

A series of mailbox vandalisms was the subject of an investigation in an Ethridge community Tuesday.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department answered a call to 211 Mt. Horeb Road Tuesday morning. The complainant wished to report that her son’s mailbox had been turned over and damaged.

While at the scene the deputy reports that he was approached by a neighbor. He reported that his mailbox had been vandalized along with several of his neighbors. Deputies report that at least nine mailboxes had been damaged, destroyed, or stolen resulting in several hundred dollars worth of monetary loss.

One of the victims reported noticing a small white truck in the area at around the same time the vandalisms occurred.

The deputy was able to speak with the victims’ mail carrier who told him that the mailboxes had not been damaged when she delivered mail the previous day.

Investigation in the case is on-going. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the department at 931-762-3626.
