Family Reports Meds Stolen From Leoma Resident’s Home

A man filed a complaint with Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies during the weekend, indicating that his mother’s prescription medications had been stolen out of her Leoma home.

The man summoned deputies to the Dunn Road home to report that his sixty-six year old mother’s Neurotin and Hydrocodone pills had been stolen.

The victim stated that after her son left her home the day before, her granddaughter had entered through a back door. She said she told her not to take her medication, but that she “knew not to make her mad” because she had assaulted her in the past. She said that she took the pills, then left.

Deputies advised the victim to obtain an order of protection against her granddaughter. They advised her son to take whatever precautions necessary in order to prevent future instances.

At the present time the matter remains under investigation.
