Resident To Be Charged For Dealing Marijuana Out Of Home

A Lawrenceburg man faces criminal charges after he was found last week to be dealing marijuana out of his home.

Phillip Lee Purser, 32, was arrested at his 253 East Taylor Street home Thursday night. Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department approached the home after receiving a tip regarding drug activity there.

Officers report detecting a strong odor of marijuana as soon as Purser opened the door. They gained written consent to conduct a search of the premises and a search was promptly undertaken.

Officers report finding 21 grams of marijuana stored in a kitchen cabinet beside digital scales and plastic bags. Three and a half additional grams were found inside a Mason jar in another cabinet. Two glass bongs were found inside a bedroom, and a bottle containing 10 marijuana roaches and a glass pipe were found beneath the couch. In addition, officers report a metal bud grinder was found sitting on the coffee table.

Officials indicate that evidence collected at Purser’s home will be presented in the near future to a Lawrence County Grand Jury. Numerous drug indictments will be sought at that time.
