Billfold Stolen While Owner Speaks With Church Rrep

   A Lawrenceburg woman reported that her billfold appeared to have been stolen Wednesday when she was approached by a woman who invited her to attend her church.

   The victim, a seventy-seven-year-old resident of Thomas Street, reported the incident around 10:30 p.m. to Lawrenceburg Police Officers. She indicated that the billfold had been lying in her shopping cart while she was placing her purchases into her car around 7:00 a.m.

   During this time, the victim said she was approached by a woman who gave her a church flier, then began to engage her in small talk.

   She told officers that she soon realized that her billfold was missing. She indicated that she did not know whether the billfold had been taken by the woman.

   Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division are continuing to check into the matter.
