Inmate Walks Away From Work Detail

   Authorities are on the lookout for a Lawrence County inmate who reportedly walked away from a work detail Monday.

   Reports indicate that Columbia resident Brian Keith Rummage, 19, who had been incarcerated locally, had been allowed to participate in a work release program through the Lawrenceburg Parks and Recreation Department. During a lunch break, officials report that Rummage apparently walked away from his assigned area without arousing suspicion.

   A nonviolent offender. Rummage is described as a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, six foot one inch tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds. Anyone who has knowledge of his whereabouts is urged to contact the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department at 762-3626.

   A warrant has been obtained, charging Rummage with the crime of felony escape. His escape status has also been listed with the National Crime Information Center in order to alert law enforcement officials across the nation.
