Six Qualify For August Ballot

   The qualifying deadline for the August 7 election was Thursday, and a total of six individuals opted to toss their hats into the various races.

   Offices that are up for grabs during the County General Election included:  Lawrence County Assessor of Property, and Lawrence County School Board Seats One, Four, Seven, and Eight.

   Property Tax Assessor Barbara Kizer, incumbent, will seek reelection unopposed. Incumbent Roberta Brazier will seek reelection to school board seat one unopposed. Jerry Brewer qualified to seek election to seat seven. Incumbent Ricky Davenport opted not to seek reelection. And, incumbent Jeff Clifton is opposed by Jack Bryant for seat four.
