Agenda Announced For Lawrenceburg Council Meeting

   Individuals who serve on the board that governs the City of Lawrenceburg are slated to meet in regular session Thursday morning to consider only a few items of business.

   Items up for consideration are as follows:

   Resolution 2009-9-A – Whereas Chapter 282 of the Tennessee Public Acts of 1979 grants governmental entities the specific power to secure risk management, insurance, or self-insurance for themselves and their employees in different areas of liability and insurability through joint and cooperative action with other municipalities under Section 12-9-101 et seq., Tennessee Code Annotated, as amended, known as the Interlocal Cooperation Act.

   A resolution for the City of Lawrenceburg to enter into a contract with Tony’s Lawncare to mow Mimosa Cemetery.

   A resolution for the city to apply for a Cops or “Universal Hiring” Grant. The deadline for application is April 14.

   A resolution authorizing the city to participate in the Tennessee Municipal League Risk Management Pool “Driver Safety” matching grant program. Proceeds from the grant would be used for defensive driving course, with the matching funds to come from the Safety and Human Resources budget.

A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG); APPLICATION NUMBER 2009-F3021-TN- SB IN THE AMOUNT OF $55,302.00 TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
LAWRENCEBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT

This resolution is part of the application for the grant – to be used to purchase video cameras for police vehicles.

There is no cost to the city.

   The meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled to get underway at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, inside the commission meeting room of the Lawrenceburg City Administration Building.
