Dogs Culprits In Early Monday Vandalism

Two dogs are the suspected culprits in a vandalism incident that was reported in the early hours Monday at a home on Mr. Ararat Road.

According to reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched to 2875 Mt. Ararat Road at 1:20 a.m. The resident reported he had been awakened by the sound of dogs growling outside his home. The noises, he said, sounded as if they originated near the basement door.

When he went to investigate, the victim said he found two dogs tearing apart wires at the rear of his 1994 Chevrolet Z71 truck. He indicated it took some time before he was able to scare the dogs away.

Deputies report they made their way next door in an attempt to confront the dogs’ owners, however they were unable to make contact at that time.

Reports show that the wiring harnesses were damaged on the truck as well as a break line. Damages were estimated at $1,600.

The victim expressed to deputies his intent to seek prosecution in connection with the matter.
