Indictment Returned In Vehicular Homicide Case

A Lawrence County Grand Jury has opted to return an indictment against a local man, charged with vehicular homicide in connection with an August 15, 2012 traffic death.

David Arreola Ravell, 43, of Sanders Street, Lawrenceburg was arrested in connection with a crash that occurred at the U.S. Highway 43/Dunn Road intersection.

Following the crash, reports from the Lawrenceburg Police Department indicated that Gary Lee Fletcher, age 25, of 1060 Old Florence Road had been traveling southbound on Highway 43 when Ravell “failed to yield,” pulling into his path.

Fletcher was transported by ambulance to Crockett Hospital where he later died.

During the investigation, officers reported that Ravell failed to perform satisfactorily on various field sobriety tests administered.

Indictments returned charge Ravell with vehicular homicide, driving on a revoked license, and violation of the financial responsibility law.

Ravell is scheduled for an initial appearance in Lawrence County Circuit Court on May 13, 2013.
