Man Reports He Was Attacked After Leaving Bar

Law enforcement officials are investigating allegations that a Five Points man was attacked Sunday evening after leaving a bar in neighboring Giles County.

The victim, a forty-five-year-old resident of Dunn Place, Leoma, reported the incident through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the victim, he was assaulted shortly after leaving a bar in Minor Hill. As he left the premises, he reports that he was followed by three men traveling in a green Pontiac Grand Am. He told deputies that the men followed him back to Lawrence County. The driver then began flashing the headlights and making similar gestures, in an attempt to persuade him to pull over.

The victim stated that he eventually pulled over while traveling along Rabbit Trail Road in the Five Points area. When he pulled over, the victim reports that the driver exited the pursuing vehicle and approached his car. He told deputies that the man punched him in the mouth as he sat inside his car and stated, “Where’s my money?”

The victim said at that point that the other two men exited the Pontiac. He told deputies that he then drove away, in fear for his safety.

The victim was unable to give deputies a detailed description of his attackers. He informed them, however, that he was not acquainted with the men.
