Neighbor’s Dogs Make Off With Cat Dragged Out Of Doghouse

Residents of Watson Road reported to law enforcement officials last week that a neighbor’s dogs had made off with at least one of their cats.

The residents told deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that two Boxers were on their porch around 7:30 a.m., trying to get at their cat. They said that the dogs could not be dissuaded, dragging the cat out of the doghouse.

Although they were hitting the dogs with a broom handle, which at one point broke over one of the dogs, the K-9s grabbed the cat and made off with it. They stated that they had another cat missing, as well.

Deputies spoke with the dogs’ owner. He told them that he would keep his dogs up “if they did that,” but that he had not seen any cats. He told the deputies that, if the cat was still alive, he would be willing to pay any resulting veterinarian bills.
