Authorities Arrest Man Wanted In Columbia

Police officers asked during the weekend to keep an eye open for a man wanted in connection with a home invasion in neighboring Maury County, were able to apprehend the suspect before the end of their shift.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department report they received notification during the shift change Friday evening to be on the lookout for thirty-seven-year-old Marlose Jermaine Frierson of 1055 Old Florence Road.

Columbia authorities provided officers with a description of Frierson, a description of his vehicle, and a license plate number.

Authorities advised that Frierson was wanted in connection with a home invasion and should be considered armed and dangerous.

While on patrol around 12:30 a.m., two officers reported possibly spotting the suspect vehicle. They lost sight of the car, however, before they were able to verify the tag number.

Additional units made their way to the location, south of the Lawrenceburg Public Square, and officers began to sweep the area.

An officer reported spotting the suspect vehicle on Waterloo Street. He was able to get behind the car and verify the license plate number. A traffic stop was subsequently initiated in the area of Cross Creek Market on Old Florence Road.

The driver of the maroon 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis was identified as Frierson. A check revealed that his driver license had been suspended.

Frierson was taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail. He was issued a citation to appear in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on the driving on a suspended license charge.

Deputies then transported Frierson to Columbia to accept service on the outstanding warrants there.
