Security system alerts owner to burglary
Lawrenceburg Now
The owner of a Fairview Road, Saint Joseph property requested that an investigation be initiated Thursday after he was alerted by his security system of a burglary.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department answered the call shortly after 9:00 a.m. The resident reported that he had been notified of movement from his security system earlier. He said he checked the property, but had found no damage at that time.
He returned at around 8:30 and discovered that someone had used a large rock from the sidewalk to break the front door glass. He estimated that the action had resulted in damages totaling around $50.
The security system did capture images of a man on the victim’s front porch along with images of a small, dark colored car.
Deputies spoke with a second complainant while at the scene. He reported that his wife had noticed a person with a flashlight in their yard. He said that they, too, saw a small, dark colored car.
At the present time both incidents remain under investigation through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information should contact the department at 931-762-3626.
