Motorist Flashes Amish Mom And Kids

A resident of the Marcella Falls area summoned law enforcement officers to his home during the weekend to report that a flasher had exposed himself to his Amish neighbor and her children.

The case is reminiscent of several incidents reported between 1997 and 2001, when a flasher plagued Ethridge’s Amish community. Indecent exposure incidents were reported in October and September of 1997, September 1998, July of 1999, August of 2000 and April of 2001.

On Saturday, deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department made their way to a home on Marcella Falls Road.

The resident reported that his Amish neighbor had left her home with her two daughters, walking to the home of a relative on Tom Lane. While walking, he said a man driving a white car had stopped, stepped out of the vehicle, and exposed himself to them.

The woman told her neighbor that she had immediately shielded her daughters’ eyes, preventing her from obtaining a license plate number or further identifying information. She was able to report that the man was a white male in his 20s or 30s.

Anyone who has information regarding the crime is urged to contact the sheriff’s department at 931-762-3626.
