Loretto High School Band Performed At 75th Annual Concert

Congratulations to the Loretto High School Band! On Friday, March 14, 2014 they performed at the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association’s 75th Annual Concert and Sight Reading Performance Assessment hosted by Middle Tennessee State University. 

The band received Superior Ratings from all three judges for their concert performance and also a Superior Rating for their sight reading performance. 

Adjudicators for the event were Mr. Keith Bearden (Texas Tech University-Retired), Dr. Charles Jackson (Kennesaw State University),  Dr. Mark Walker (Troy University),  and Mr. Hal Murphy (Director of Fine Arts Etowah County Schools).

 The Loretto Band now qualifies to perform at the 2014 Tennessee Music Educators Association’s State Concert Festival based on their superior ratings earned at the regional festival. 

The TMEA State Concert Festival will be April 25 and 26, 2014, at the Blair School of Music on the campus of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. 

This will be the Loretto Band’s 2nd appearance at the State Concert Festival in four years.  Band Director, Darrell Boston stated, “What a great honor for our seniors to perform twice during their high school music career at this prestigious event.”  

 Band members and director Darrell Boston will be working hard to prepare for their performance showcasing their musical abilities.
