Patron Trying To Get Knife Is Arrested

A patron of a Lawrenceburg sports bar who attempted to obtain a knife from the business Wednesday evening to harm another patron, was arrested and transported to jail.

Officials with The Scoreboard summoned Lawrenceburg Police Officers to the 1610 North Locust Avenue location around 10:15 p.m. Manager Andy Luna reported that a patron had asked repeatedly for a knife “to cut someone.” At one point, Luna reported, the man attempted to obtain access to the kitchen to locate a knife himself.

Luna advised that the man had been asked repeatedly to leave the premises, but that he had refused to do so.

When they approached the man, officers note they could smell a strong odor of alcohol about him. They report that he was unsteady on his feet and exhibited signs of being intoxicated.

Officers report they gave the man the opportunity to leave, but that he again refused to do so. He was therefore placed under arrest on charges of public intoxication and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.

The man, thirty-three-year-old Steven Morris Moore of 1164 Bledsoe Road, is scheduled to answer the charges against him in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on April 16, 2010.
