Authorities Investigate Ruckus Over Stolen Tools

Law enforcement officials were asked to intervene when two men found themselves embroiled in a ruckus Monday regarding some stolen tools.

When deputies arrived at the shop located at 321 Glendale Road, Loretto, the two victims explained they had come to the location to retrieve tools they had left on a previous occasion.

They reported they had performed some work at the shop for the sole proprietor. When they returned this date to retrieve their tools, they report some of their belongings were missing. Missing, they said, were some heaters, extension cords, a log chain, and chain binders, valued at $335.00.

While they were looking about for their property, the men report that the proprietor pulled some items out of the electric meter box, causing the power to the garage to be disconnected.

Deputies summoned officials with the Lawrenceburg Utility System to the scene. They report he installed a new lock tag on the meter box. He also indicated he would seek prosecution against the culprit.

Investigation into the matter is on-going.
