Girlfriend Who Assaulted Mate Tries To Stab Him With Glass Shards

A Lawrenceburg woman was arrested overnight Monday on charges that she smashed a coffee cup over her boyfriend’s head, then attempted to stab him with the broken shards.

According to reports filed Tuesday by officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department, they responded to the 4:00 a.m. call to 504 Fourth Street in order to intervene in a domestic altercation.

The victim, a thirty-nine-year-old male resident, was found to be bleeding from the left side of his head. He told officers that he and his girlfriend, Tracie Renee Rosenbaum, 29, had been drinking earlier in the evening.

He said that he went into the bedroom to watch television, but that Rosenbaum soon followed. They became involved in an argument, he said, when suddenly she smashed the coffee cup over his head, then began trying to stab him with the broken fragments.

The victim told officers he was able to push Rosenbaum away, then placed a 911 call to summon help.

Officers noted that upon their arrival Rosenbaum was sitting on the couch “with blood all over her clothes” and a large cut on a finger of her right hand.

The victim refused medical treatment. Rosenbaum was transported by ambulance to Crockett hospital for treatment. Once released, she was transferred to the Lawrence County Detention Center.

Rosenbaum was booked on one count of aggravated domestic assault. She has been scheduled an initial General Sessions Court date of April 1, 2011.
