Resident Suffers Loss In Thursday Burglary

An Iron City resident suffered at least $4,000 in loss Thursday when burglars targeted both her home and vehicles.

The victim, age 47, reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that she had arrived at the Wayland Springs Road property to find that windows were broken out of both her 2010 Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet truck.

Reports show that the window had been broken from the front door, as well. Identified as missing were a Craftsman toolbox, a fifty piece gold silverware set, and Campbell air compressor.

The victim reported that, due to the fact that she was in the process of moving, she is uncertain what might be missing.

Damages were said to be approximately $3,000 while loss was estimated at more than $1,000.
