Resident Awakened, Assaulted In Early Hours Friday

   Lawrenceburg Police Officers initiated an investigation early Friday after a resident reported he had been awakened by an intruder, then assaulted inside his home.

   Officers report they made contact with the victim, a nineteen-year-old resident of Brink Street, around 1:00 a.m. as he was walking in the 400 block of Second Street.

   The victim reported that he had been sleeping in his bed when he heard the noise of an intruder. He said that he picked up a knife and went to investigate. When he made contact with the intruder, the victim said he knocked the knife from his hand, then pushed his head into the kitchen counter.

   Officers noted that the victim had sustained a knot to the left side of his head. He was transported to Crockett Hospital for medical attention.
