Culprit Sought In Church Burglary
Authorities are working to determine who broke into an East Lawrence church last week, making off with electronics and other items.
Member Rita Deuchele requested that deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department initiate an investigation after discovering the burglary on Saturday morning.
Reports show that those responsible pried open a rear door, damaging the deadlock, in order to gain access. Sound equipment and other electronics were reported missing along with a bean bag chair. Total loss is approximately $2,000.
Reports indicate that a red truck had been spotted on numerous occasions parked at the rear of the church building. Anyone who has information regarding the crime is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s department at 762-3626.
