Liquor Sales Cause Increase In City Coffers

Members of the governing board of the City of Lawrenceburg learned Thursday just how much money the sale of liquor within the city’s borders have brought into the city coffers during past months.

Mayor Keith Durham reported on the matter to members of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Commissioners. Durham indicated that he had compiled a list of the revenues generated for the city through liquor sales during an eight-month period.

During that time period, Durham pointed out, the city has seen revenues of approximately $77,000 in the form of taxes and business license fees.
