Baseball Field Named In Honor Of Former Eagles Coach

On Monday the Summertown High School Baseball Field was named in honor of former Eagles coach Ricky Haddock.
 
Coach Haddock was joined on the field by his wife Linda, children Leah and Trent, daughter-in-law Ashlie, his longtime Assistant Coach Kenny Cambell, SHS Principal Brent Long, SHS Athletic Director Craig McGill and a host of former Eagles baseball players.
 
Coach Haddock is a graduate of SHS and taught at the school for 29 years (now retired) and he served as baseball coach for 21 years.
 
During that time, he coached 529 games and had a Win/Loss record of 386-143, for a winning percentage of 73%.  His teams won 12 District Championships, 7 Region Championships.  He was named District Coach of the year 12 times and Region Coach of the year 7 times.
 
His 1992 squad captured the Class A State Championship, his 1985 team was State Runner-up and his 1997 team finished in the Final 4.
 
Coach Haddock was inducted into the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2009.
