Waynesboro Man Apprehended On Fugitive Of Justice Warrant
A Waynesboro resident was arrested while in Lawrenceburg Tuesday on a warrant issued out of the State of Alabama.
Scotty Lee Berry, a twenty-six-year-old resident of 117 West Hill Street, Waynesboro, was detained by a parole officer Tuesday afternoon. Deputies then served Berry with a warrant they had obtained, charging him with being a fugitive from justice.
An indictment had been issued against Berry through Lauderdale County, Alabama. He had been wanted on charges of second degree assault and reckless driving. The charges were issued on March 7, 2008.
Berry was transported to the Lawrence County Jail where he was booked on the fugitive of justice charge. He then signed a waiver, allowing him to quickly be extradited to Alabama.
