Hired Hitman Attempts To Extort Victim

A man who claimed he had been hired to execute a Lawrenceburg man sent the intended victim an email over the weekend, attempting to extort thousands of dollars from him.

In the email, the writer tells the recipient that someone “wanted him dead by all means and the person have spent a lot of money on this…” He indicates that “the person provided them with a picture and other necessary information’s we needed about you. So I sent my boys to track you down and they have carried out the necessary investigation needed to kill you...”

The writer then explained, “I would like to contact you and see if your life is important to you or not since their findings shows that you are innocent.” He warns, “As I am writing to you now my men are monitoring you and they are telling me everything about you.”

He then begins to ask for money, saying, “Get back to me now if you are ready to pay some fees to spare your life, $15,000 is all you need to spend You will first of all pay $8,000 then I will send a tape to you which I recorded every discussion I had with the person who wanted you dead and as soon as I get the tape, you will pay the remaining $7,000.”

The writer then issues a threat against the victim’s life, saying, “If you are not ready for my help, then I will carry on with my job straight-up.”

At this point the writer warns the victim against contacting police or telling anyone, saying, “I will know.” He then begins to make threats against the victim’s family members, saying, “I will extend it to your family.”

As the email continues, the writer issues a further warning to the victim, “Do not come out once it is 7 p.m. until I make time to see you.”

The “from” line of the email bears the words “All Eyes On You,” while the subject line states, “Death Awaits You.”

Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
