Butch Morrow Will Seek A Second Term

Submitted by the candidate

Lawrenceburg City Councilman Butch Morrow has officially announced that he will seek a second term for Seat 3 on the City Council.  Morrow is a 1965 graduate of Lawrence County High School and also holds college degrees from the University of North Alabama and Tennessee State University that include a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Masters Plus degree in Education.  Morrow, who served as a teacher and principal in the Lawrence County School System before serving as Lawrence County School Superintendent for twelve years, is now the manager of the Lawrenceburg Lions Senior Citizens Complex in Lawrenceburg.  Morrow and his wife Anne have two married children and four grandchildren.  Morrow and his family are active members of Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church.

Morrow made the following statement concerning his decision to seek a second term as a member of the City Council - “It has certainly been my great privilege and honor to serve as your Councilman the past four years.  I am very proud of the many accomplishments we have made during my first term such as lowering the city tax rate without cutting services, bringing Precision Laser and the Bertolini Corporation to our city, and eliminating the city’s run-off election which will, over a period of years, save the taxpayers thousands of dollars.”

Morrow continued, “Our city’s great success the past four years can certainly be credited to great teamwork.  This successful team is made up of Council Members, Management, Department Heads, Employees, Board Members, and Citizens – people who genuinely love our community and are willing to put personal interests and politics aside and the welfare of our citizens and our city’s needs first.”

Morrow concluded, “In these uncertain economic times, the future of our city depends upon stability, common sense, and experienced leadership.  It is my great desire to continue to be a part of our successful team who has worked so well together to meet these challenges, and has ultimately earned our community’s trust and respect."

"I humbly ask for your vote and continued support in the upcoming City Council election on May 5th.  Thank you.”
