Resident Says While Incarcerated Bank Card Was Used
An Iron City woman who had recently been released from the Lawrence County Detention Center reported last week that someone had dipped into her bank account while she was incarcerated.
The victim told Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies that someone had gained access to her account, likely through use of her debit card and telephone number. She reported they culprit had taken $200, leaving her account nearly depleted.
The matter has been turned over for additional investigation by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
