Hit And Run Claims Life Of Longtime Lawrenceburg Resident

A longtime Lawrenceburg resident lost her life late last week when she was struck by a vehicle while walking her dogs.

Reports show that pedestrian Noralee Wills, 53, of Denton Township, Ohio, was the victim of the hit and run accident that occurred Thursday on M-55, near Houghton Lake High School.

Once she was struck, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Another motorist, officials indicate, stopped to offer assistance. Wills was transported to West Branch Hospital where officials report she died approximately one hour later.

Denton Township Police officials reported that approximately forty-five minutes after the crash the alleged driver, Richard Christof, telephoned the precinct, admitting that he had been drinking prior to the accident.

Officials report that the accident remains under investigation at the present time. Christof has been arraigned on charges stemming from the crash.

Family members report that Wills, who is from Lawrenceburg, had moved to Ohio to care for her ailing father, Al Wills. Mr. Wills passed away on January 28.

Funeral services for Wills will be conducted Thursday morning at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home is Cleveland, Ohio. Family members indicate that a memorial service will be held for Wills in Lawrenceburg in late spring or early summer.

Local survivors include sister Kathleen, of Lawrenceburg.
